Jennifer Calender

Receptionist / Insurance

Jennifer joined our practice in 2018.  Jennifer is the voice you normally hear when you call the office to schedule appointments or ask questions concerning the practice. She is responsible for making and adjusting appointments, inputting all patient data into our dental management computer program, calling to remind patients of their appointments, processing and following up with all insurance claims, processing all payments from patients and insurance companies, and numerous other miscellaneous tasks which are essential to running a dental practice.

Jennifer writes:  I was born and raised in the southern state of Bolivar, Venezuela.  An amazing country in the 80's and 90's, surrounded by many beautiful national parks like Canaima and the Angel Falls, as well as a large family and friends.  I had the opportunity to learn how to run your own business from Mom and Dad.  They were the first ones to open and share with the city the delicious donuts from their donut shop.  I graduated from high school in 1998, the year I moved to Oviedo, Florida.  I went to Seminole State College to study interior design, and worked for a home builder company for many years.  Later, I went back to school and studied medical office administration.  That helped me start my dental career in 2011.  I love to provide my patients with top notch service, and always try to brighten their day.  When I am not working, you can find me at home doing some fixer upper projects, or at any of the Disney theme parks.

Jennifer is ready and willing to take your call, and will do her best to accommodate your scheduling needs.  Please give her a call.

Marcia Sober

Dental Assistant

Marcia has been a part of our practice off and on since it’s inception 37 years ago.  She has been married to Dr. Sober for 44 years, and has worked to help build and sustain the practice throughout the years.

Marcia’s history in the dental office goes a long way back.  She began her experience working for her dentist father while still in junior high school.  She worked as his chair-side assistant until high school graduation, and then went on to Pensacola Jr. College to obtain a degree in dental hygiene.  She worked as a hygienist in Williston, Florida before deciding to go back to college at the University of Florida, earning a bachelors degree in elementary education in 1984.  However, before getting a chance to start her teaching career, she unselfishly began working as a chair-side assistant to Dr. Sober as he began his career in Sanford, Florida.  After leaving Sanford in 1985, Dr. Sober began his solo practice in its current location in Winter Garden, and Marcia took on the multitasking role as chair-side assistant, receptionist, bookkeeper, and all around office helper wherever she was needed.  Through the years that followed, Marcia has returned to the office from time to time whenever she was needed.

Currently, Marcia works full time as a chair-side assistant, helping Dr. Sober with direct patient care.  She maintains the treatment areas, setting up instruments and supplies for each procedure.  In addition, she cleans up the units, sterilizes instruments to be ready for the next patient, and handles other miscellaneous tasks as they come along.

Marcia is easy to talk to, and is ready and willing to assist you to make your dental visit a pleasure.  Come in and let her help you with your appointment.
